Light bulbs are great for Bermuda rigged yachts - especially when the bulb is placed upright like this one. With their slightly larger neck diameter they easily accommodate the broader beam and high mast height of contemporary yachts. Bulb size, large industrial 300 watts, 9 x 4.5" (23 cm x 12 cm).
The yacht itself is one the popular Tanzer 22's built by Tanzer Industries Ltd. of Dorion, Quebec, Canada. In the quarter century since the first Tanzer 22 was produced some 2400 of the yachts have come off the production lines in Quebec and Washington State.
Designed by Johann Tanzer the 22 has a fiberglass hull and aluminum spars, and has been produced in both a keel and a centerboard version. Easily hauled on a trailer, the yacht sleeps four and is popular for daysailing and racing as well as weekends.
